SPA FROG Bromine Replacement Cartridge is to be used with:

• SPA FROG In-Line Bromine and Mineral Systems (these systems are installed at the spa factory; not sold here)
• SPA FROG Floating Bromine and Mineral System

1. Over-brominating is easy when you have minerals working hand-in-hand to control bacteria and algae, so be careful!  Using minerals alleviates demand on Bromine, reducing Bromine from 2 PPM to 1 PPM.  Test strips and common knowledge tell you to keep Bromine high, at 3-5 PPM.  Get a test strip that reads low.  f your Bromine is high, it will cause unnecessary damage to pump seals and more...probably not great for bathers, either.
   
   
2. Adding a spa ozone generator to your hot tub further reduces chemical purchasing including Bromine (you use less to keep 1 PPM residual), shock, pH Up, pH Down, Metal Control and more.  Your spa water will be pure and clean - you'll love it!
   
   
3. If you install a spa ozone generator, know that ozone and bromine fight each other, breaking each other down.  You may have read that ozone regenerates bromine, but not at these relatively low levels.  The result:  you use more bromine AND the spa isn't as sanitized because the ozone and bromine are busy breaking each other down.  So, again, make sure to keep Bromine at 1 PPM for best results.
