DEL Ozone offers the Mixing Degas Vessel (MDV) to solve ozone off-gas issues in pools and spas. It removes bubbles and bubble noise from entering the pool, leaving the surface undisturbed and calm.
After mixing ozone into pool and spa water, the MDV vents any left-over ozone through the Carbon Destruct (PN 9-0620, pictured above) which immediately destroys the ozone and turns it back into oxygen. The oxygen bubbles are vented into the atmosphere either at the bottom nipple of the Destruct Cartridge or through the clear PVC tubing that comes with the initial MDV*.
The 9-0620 Carbon Destruct Replacement Cartridge works with these DEL Ozone Mixing Degas Vessels:
DEL Ozone recommends changing MDV Carbon Destruct Filter (9-0620) annually. However, if the MDV installation is outdoors and away from all people, animals, and things of value (sculptures) replacing the Carbon Destruct Filter (in our experience) may not be necessary. Once the carbon breaks down, the ozone will just escape into the atmosphere and revert into oxygen. Why buy something you don't need? However, if you wish to replace it, read on...
*When replacing the 9-0620 Carbon Destruct Filter, charcoal may settle during shipping. Upon start-up the settled charcoal can spray all over the surrounding wall, fence, etc. and will stain. The MDV-20 initially comes with 10' of tubing and instructions to attach the tubing to the destruct nipple to direct any charcoal dust AWAY from the wall, fence, etc., and into a planter box, old tin can, whatever. The replacement cartridges do not come with these instructions from the factory, nor does it come with 10' of tubing.
Examples of MDV applications are:
